When buying a bonsai, pay attention to the tree's appearance. Inspect its foliage (needles) especially carefully: how rich is its color, has it turned yellow?
Containersshould be beautiful and clean. Check the soil for moisture. If it is too wet, see if the leaves have turned yellow - this indicates overwatering; if the soil is very dry, pay attention to whether there are dry and wilted leaves.
Do not purchase trees withdeep wire marks on the bark, they are very difficult to remove, as well as plants with wires embedded in the bark.
