It all started when I decided to transplant my Ficus benjamina into a suitable bonsai container. Before that, the tree was grown in a regular flower pot.

I live in a small Russian city, which is quite developed, but when looking for a suitable pot, it turned out that not a single flower shop offers products for growing bonsai. Of course, in the windows of some shops there were dwarf trees, but judging by their appearance, it was clear that they had been there for quite a while and had not been properly cared for.
Having failed to find a suitable pot in the city, I started looking for it on the Internet. Searching on the global network did not bring results, since there were very few stores selling bonsai products and even fewer of them deliver within Russia. One day, while in a kitchenware store, I noticed a salad bowl that was suitable for the role of a bonsai container in all respects. In general, it was decided to make a bonsai pot with my own hands.

For this I needed a salad bowl, a drill (screwdriver) and a drill for ceramic tiles (“feather”). The salad bowl differs from the plant pot only by the absence of holes in the bottom, which are used for drainage. Drill the required number of drainage holes and the container for your tree is ready.
In kitchenware stores you can find a suitable container of any size and shape. Almost any of them have round, oval, rectangular and square plates, made of both glass and ceramics. If the container is made of clay, then a concrete drill will usually do.
When drilling, do not apply excessive force, otherwise you may split the bottom of the plate.
