Omiya Bonsai Village

A little historical background

We can say that suchdwarf trees appeared a very, very long time ago, but they had a slightly different appearance. Previously, such a composition was simple and extraordinary: the tree was located on a tray, surrounded by no more than ten stones of various shapes. But time passed, and new opportunities became available to humanity. Regarding this art, during its heyday, the most famous person was Emperor Meiji. It was he who elevated the art to the rank of a national tradition. The Japanese emperor became the founder of a unique and unrepeatable place called "Bonsai Village".

Traditional landmark of Japan

In essence, the place was considered unique and inimitable for a long time; it was the only one of its kind and had no analogues. Even then, when a powerful earthquake conquered Japan, all the masters lost many works, among the losses were the creative works of the emperor himself. Long reflections and a forced move to the east of the country played an important role in the formation of this wonderful place. If not for the sad events, most likely, few people knew about Omiya. But it happened so, and therefore all the new works of different masters and talented students found their permanent location. This territory was called the "Bonsai Village", which over time became the property of the country. If then only a few could visit this place, now it is available to everyone. Since 2010, this exhibition has been operating in the format of a museum, which hospitably welcomes its visitors from 9.00 to 17.00. What is surprising is that it is free and open to visitors, every day except Thursday you can enjoy the country's culture, evaluate works, view compositions made in 12 different styles, and get a lot of positive emotions. If you happen to be in the Bonsai Village from May 3 to May 5, you can witness a fabulous exhibition-festival, which will includefamous mastersand true connoisseurs of the art of bonsai.

Why do all tourists who visit Japan dream of visiting Omiya?
